What if all seadwelling trolls were really flexible, and they had specially built joints that were meant to be dislocated when needed, so they were super bendy, like how an octopus can squeeze inside of a bottle despite its size.
Like, even the base of their horns were biologically hinged to provide a little bit of give, so that their horns could be lowered in tight spaces at least a few inches?
I did not know bendy fef/meenah was what I’ve been needing in life.
Demara wishing she was a seadweller so she could blow her own bulge.
Meenah freaking Meulin out by sitting on her own head.
Cronus being a god in the bedroom.
OH MY.
Feferi affectionately curling around people.
Eridan making a martial art form based around bendy.

STOP THIS AT ONCE I WASN’T EXPECTING THIS
Seadweller greeting custom for very close friends where you do a helix entwinement hug.
Hugging seadwellers from behind only for them to be able to hug you back.
Well, this is the instruction book Shelly uses–living west of Rogers Park with her grandparents, she hangs around Devon Avenue pretty often. The store owner told her this was their most popular book and she’d better get it before someone else does! Though that could’ve just been because they were trying to rush her out before she accidentally knocked all the bookcases over…
I thought I’d show you guys the sketches for some pieces you’ve seen too! So this is the NY Times job with the girl scout and the pixel fire. This was a really interesting job because didn’t know the size or dimensions of the piece before I started so I had to think of all the situations. And there were so many themes of the article it was hard to zone in on one.
My first idea was showing a message in a bottle, a very archaic means of communication, juxtaposed next to a very modern means of communication, the email. I wanted to show how things have changed
Next was about the omnipotence of technology, and it hit me that the google pinpoint marker looks like an eye in the center, and I decided to make into the all seeing eye. Still one of my favorite ideas.
For this one I decided I wanted to show the intrusion of privacy so there’s and IPad with a peep hole in it and a guys is spying through it.
Lastly, of course the scout with a pixel fire. This last idea was about nature being shown digitally to show that technology has taken over, even in ridiculous places.
And this is the final piece. I had a little less than a day to hand in all the sketches and the final was going to be a day turnaround, but the article got pushed back so I got a few extra days. I dig it. It was eventually what showed the focus of the article the best.
Hey friendos! Someone cool posted a really neat kid/troll sprite maker on the subreddit, go check it out! It’s got pixel-perfect adjustment for the face and customizable hues for the body presets, very useful for making a draft of your fan character!
honestly you really need to see these things in motion because they’re buck wild
(also i’m gonna be That Guy and point out that wilkins wasn’t a prototype kermit as kermit already existed, although he was Kermit the Fucked Up Lizard Thing rather than Kermit the Frog at that point in time)
